Job summary

Marmon Lift Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join the machining team in North Staffordshire. The role involves setting and operating CNC turning equipment and reading engineering drawings to produce components to specification.

You will conduct quality checks, diagnose production issues, and maintain a safe, organized workspace. Independence and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this established manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC machining/manufacturing environment is ESSENTIAL.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is ESSENTIAL.
• Solid manufacturing background and hands-on approach are ESSENTIAL.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC turning machinery.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure components meet specifications and perform quality checks.
• Diagnose and resolve machining and production issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Work independently while contributing to the wider team.

CNC Setter / Operator - Machining / Turning

CNC Machining, Setting & Turning

Location: North Staffordshire

Rate: Up to £19 per hour

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7am - 5pm, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday overtime available

Marmon Lift Recruitment is working with an established manufacturing business seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join their machining team in North Staffordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and hands-on CNC machinist to join an established manufacturing environment, working with CNC turning equipment and producing components to engineering drawings and required specifications.

This role suits someone with a solid manufacturing background who is confident working independently, solving problems, and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

CNC Setter / Operator Responsibilities:

• Set and operate CNC turning machinery
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ensure components are produced accurately and to specification
• Carry out quality checks and identify any issues during production
• Diagnose and resolve machining and production problems
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Work independently while contributing effectively as part of the wider manufacturing team
• Support continuous improvement and contribute ideas for improving processes and efficiency

The Ideal CNC Setter / Operator:

• Previous experience in a CNC machining/manufacturing environment - ESSENTIAL
• Experience with CNC turning/lathe operations - ESSENTIAL
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - ESSENTIAL
• Solid manufacturing background - ESSENTIAL
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and a drive for innovation - ESSENTIAL
• Hands-on and proactive attitude with a strong team spirit - ESSENTIAL
• Ability to work independently and under pressure - ESSENTIAL
• GCSEs or equivalent - PREFERRED, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
