Job summary

Travail Employment Group is recruiting on behalf of a precision engineering company for a CNC Lathe Operator to set and run CNC lathes with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls, producing high-precision components to tight tolerances.

You will read engineering drawings, perform tool changes and offsets, and work on both first-offs and batch production, maintaining AS9100 / ISO 13485 quality standards. Training and progression opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Operator.
• Experience setting and operating CNC machines.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances.
• Knowledge of Fanuc or Heidenhain controls.

Responsibilities

CNC Lathe Operator

£19.00 per hour (incl. shift allowance)

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected precision engineering company known for manufacturing high-precision components for demanding industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled CNC Turner, Lathe Setter Operator to join their established production team.

The Role

• Set and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc & Heidenhain controls
• Carry out tool changes, offsets, and basic programme edits
• Manufacture high-quality components to tight tolerances
• Work from engineering drawings to produce first-offs and batch work
• Maintain high standards in line with AS9100 / ISO 13485

Shift Pattern

• Early Shift:
• Mon -Thurs: 6:00am - 2:00pm
• Fri: 6:00am - 12:30pm
• Late Shift:
• Mon -Wed: 2:00pm -12:30am
• Thurs: 2:00pm -10:30pm
• Fri: Day off

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Operator
• Experience setting and operating CNC machines
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Knowledge of Fanuc or Heidenhain controls

Desirable

• Apprentice trained or engineering qualification
• Experience with multiple materials (metals / polymers)
• 5-axis or mill-turn experience
• Basic CNC programming
