Job summary

Dutton Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Laser & Press Brake/Fold Operative for a permanent role based in Nottingham. You will operate CNC laser cutting and folding machinery, read engineering drawings, and ensure production meets quality and safety standards. An immediate start is available subject to interview.

Qualifications

• Experienced in CNC laser cutting and/or press brake/folding operations.
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Comfortable working with sheet metal and different material types and thicknesses.
• Able to use basic measuring equipment such as verniers, tape measures and angle gauges.
• Quality-focused with good attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow workplace procedures.
• Flexible and willing to support other areas of production when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC laser cutting machinery to manufacture sheet metal components.
• Set and operate CNC press brake/folding machinery.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Select and load materials and tooling.
• Perform measurements and quality checks throughout production.
• Ensure components meet dimensions and tolerances.
• Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Identify and report quality issues or machine faults.
• Adjust machine settings as required.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
• Work as part of a wider manufacturing team to meet production deadlines.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Laser & Press Brake / Fold Operative for a permanent position based with our client in Nottingham.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Salary £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Operating CNC laser cutting machinery to manufacture sheet metal components.
• Setting and operating CNC press brake / folding machinery.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Selecting and loading the correct materials and tooling.
• Carrying out accurate measurements and quality checks throughout production.
• Ensuring components are produced to the required dimensions and tolerances.
• Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Identifying and reporting any quality issues or machine faults.
• Making adjustments to machine settings where required.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required production standards.
• Maintaining a clean and organised working area.
• Following company health & safety procedures at all times.
• Working as part of a wider manufacturing team to meet production deadlines.

You should be:
