Job summary

ASC Connections Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced CNC Applications Engineer to move into a varied, customer‑facing role that blends programming, setting and process development. You’ll work across programming, process development, machine testing, commissioning and customer support, with opportunities to travel internationally as part of the role.

This permanent position offers a salary of £40,000 - £45,000.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC programming and setting experience.
• Experience working with multi-axis CNC machinery.
• Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
• Good practical engineering and problem-solving ability.
• Willing and able to travel internationally when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and optimise CNC programs.
• Program and set multi-axis CNC machinery.
• Produce sample components from engineering drawings.
• Develop processes to improve cycle times and machine performance.
• Carry out testing of machinery prior to customer delivery.
• Support machine installation and commissioning at customer sites.
• Train customers in the operation of equipment.
• Provide ongoing technical and applications support.
• Assist with tooling, time studies and technical requirements.
• Contribute to engineering and process improvements.
