Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced CNC 5-Axis Machinist for a specialist manufacturing environment supplying motorsport, F1, aerospace and defence sectors. You will program, set and run multi-axis machines to produce high-value components including moulds, inserts and carbon parts.

Role involves offline CAM programming, reading drawings, inspection and continuous improvement, with shifts including days, nights and weekends. Must show precision and teamwork in a busy shop.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC machinist with strong 5-axis experience.
• Proficient in setting, operating and CAM programming.
• Solid understanding of machining processes and materials.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate 5-axis CNC machines.
• Program parts offline using CAM software; Visi experience is advantageous.
• Edit CNC programmes and produce complex components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimise processes.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and tool changes.

CNC 5-Axis Machinist Salary: £20–£24 per hour shift uplift overtime Days / Nights / Weekend Shifts available We’re looking for an experienced CNC 5-Axis Machinist to join a specialist manufacturer of high-performance composite components, supplying sectors including motorsport, F1, aerospace and defence. Working within a busy machine shop and reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, you’ll be responsible for programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC machines to produce complex, high-value components including moulds, inserts, fixtures and carbon components.

The Role

• Set and operate 5-axis CNC machines
• Program parts offline using CAM software – Visi experience is advantageous, but other CAM packages are considered
• Edit CNC programmes and produce complex, high-precision components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimise processes
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and tool changes

About You

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, ideally with strong 5-axis experience
• Confident with setting, operating and CAM programming
• Strong understanding of machining processes and materials
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
