Job summary

First Base Employment in Worcester is seeking an experienced CNC 4/5 Axis Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator to join the Machining Department on a permanent night shift.

You will program, set and run Mazak 4/5 axis centres, producing highly toleranced components from drawings while ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role requires teamwork, a proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement and kaizen initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience programming Mazatrol CNC controls directly from engineering drawings.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Experience working in a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating Mazak 4 and 5 Axis Machining Centres.
• Producing a wide variety of highly toleranced components in line with engineering drawings and quality standards.
• Using Mazatrol CNC controls to programme new parts and edit or improve existing programmes.
• Working as part of a team of engineers while following strict health and safety guidelines and procedures.
• Supporting apositive workplace culture by engaging in health and safety improvements and kaizen initiatives.

CNC 4/5 Axis Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator – Nights 7015

Location: Worcester

Hours: Permanent night shift

Salary: £32,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on experience

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC 4/5 Axis Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their Machining Department on a permanent night shift. The successful candidate will produce a wide and varied range of highly toleranced parts.

Key Responsibilities of a CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator:

• Programming, setting and operating Mazak 4 and 5 Axis Machining Centres
• Producing a wide variety of highly toleranced components in line with engineering drawings and quality standards
• Using Mazatrol CNC controls to programme new parts and edit or improve existing programmes
• Working as part of a team of engineers while following strict health and safety guidelines and procedures
• Supporting a positive workplace culture by engaging in health and safety improvements and kaizen initiatives

Key Skills of a CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator:

Essential:

• Solid understanding and experience of setting and operating CNC-controlled Machining Centres
• Demonstrable experience of using CNC controls safely and confidently
• Previous experience working as part of a team within a busy manufacturing environment
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to quality and safe working practices

Desirable:

• Ability to programme Mazatrol CNC controls directly from engineering drawings
• A mechanical engineering apprenticeship, HNC or similar engineering qualification
