CMM Operator

Location - Wellingborough

Payrate - Competitive + Shift Premium

Shift - Double days

We are seeking a CMM Operator to support the Quality Team at our busy facility in Wellingborough. The role involves operating Zeiss and Mitutoyo CMM equipment to perform precision measurement, inspection, and testing of machined components such as cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, and structural BIW parts.

The successful candidate will use pre-prepared inspection programs, and responsibilities include mounting and loading fixtures and products onto the CMM bed using appropriate lifting equipment. Product measurement is crucial for meeting inspection criteria, validation after breakdowns, and new product prove-out. Therefore, good knowledge and experience in a similar environment are essential.

Familiarity with other measurement tools such as surface measurement devices, height gauges, bore gauges, and hand tools is required. Candidates with previous experience in CMM operation or other metrology roles will be considered. The systems used include Zeiss machines with Calypso software and Mitutoyo with MCOSMOS software.

• Previous experience operating CMM measuring machines is essential

• Experience in automotive, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing industries
• BTEC National / ONC or higher qualifications, or Vocational Engineering qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
• Punctuality, reliability, and willingness to work overtime

• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
