Job summary

Cambridge Aerospace is seeking an experienced CMM Inspector to program and operate CMM equipment, interpret CAD drawings, and ensure products meet GD&T specifications. The role focuses on first-off, in-process, and final inspections, with reporting and data analysis to support quality objectives.

You will work with Hexagon CMM systems and traditional inspection tools, contributing to AS9100 compliance and continuous improvement within a defence-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
• Strong PC-DMIS experience.
• Ability to create inspection programmes from CAD models and drawings.
• Good understanding of GD&T and dimensional metrology.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS software.
• Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
• Create and maintain inspection programmes from CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Generate inspection reports and analyse measurement data.
• Support AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
• Identify and document non-conformances.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
• Use conventional inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
