Job summary

ABS Talent Ltd. is recruiting a CMM Inspector for a well-established precision machining client located in Willenhall. The role focuses on visual and dimensional inspection of precision components, with heavy use of CMM inspection using Aberlink software and manual measurement methods.

You will read engineering drawings, generate CMM programs, and produce detailed inspection reports. Ideal candidates will have proven CMM inspector experience in precision machining, strong GD&T knowledge, and

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CMM Inspector in a precision machining environment (essential).
• Experience with Aberlink software (essential).
• Experience generating CMM programs (essential).
• Expert ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Strong knowledge of measuring equipment and inspection reporting.
• Expert knowledge of FAIRs.
• Confident, methodical and quality-focused, able to work self-sufficiently and with the engineering team.
• Manual handling / lifting equipment training an advantage (can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of a wide variety of precision machined components.
• CMM inspection using Aberlink software, including generating CMM programs to measure components in CNC mode.
• Manually measure parts using conventional equipment – verniers, micrometers, bore mics, gauges and callipers.
• Read technical drawings and interpret geometric features and tolerances (strong GD&T knowledge essential).
• Write CofCs, ISIRs and FAIRs, and raise concessions where required.
• Document quality issues and report non-conformances.
• Compile detailed inspection reports.
• Work with materials including aluminium, steel, castings and cast iron.
• Comply with all quality, safety and company standards.

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

The opportunity

ABS Talent is recruiting a CMM Inspector on behalf of a well-established precision machining client, inspecting components supplied into motorsport, automotive, defence and other high-precision sectors.

The role

• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of a wide variety of precision machined components
• CMM inspection using Aberlink software, including generating CMM programs to measure components in CNC mode
