Job summary

Nottingham Forest seeks a Management Accountant to produce monthly cost centre reports, prepare budgets and forecasts, reconcile the balance sheet and support cash and treasury management for the Club and Nottingham Forest Women.

You will work with the finance team across the Club to improve reporting, strengthen controls over expenses and bank reconciliations, and assist with audits and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional with CIMA/ACCA/ACA or part-qualified and actively studying.
• Proven experience in cost centre reporting, budgeting, month-end and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience in cash flow forecasting and bank reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills and comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency.
• Clear communicator able to explain numbers to all levels, in writing and verbally.
• Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
• Discretion handling confidential financial information.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly cost centre reports to support managers' decisions.
• Lead monthly meetings with department managers on monthly and full-year numbers.
• Prepare departmental budgets and forecasts with cost centre managers.
• Provide commentary on variances against budget and explain changes.
• Identify trends, risks and savings from financial data and flag them early.
• Prepare daily cash position and update rolling cash flow forecast.
• Coordinate payment runs and ensure invoices are properly approved.
• Perform bank reconciliations and clear unmatched items promptly.
• Manage foreign currency payments and lender reporting.
• Post month-end journals, accruals and prepayments for your areas.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of differences.
• Act as finance contact for Nottingham Forest Women and prepare audit information.
• Assist with regulatory submissions and audits, ensuring on-time sign-off.
