Job summary

Active Stirling is seeking a Club and Community Development Officer to support Stirling clubs, build strong governance, and promote inclusive participation. The role is full-time, hybrid, based at Stirling locations, with a salary of £36,534 per year on a fixed-term basis to 31 March 2027.

You’ll engage with clubs, deliver training, and collaborate with partner organisations to grow sport in the area. The ideal candidate has a degree, proven community sport delivery experience, and a commitment

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of identified clubs within the Stirling area through regular engagement to build relationships with club leaders and supporting them to develop strong, sustainable, safe and inclusive clubs.
  • Ensure clubs have strong financial operating and governance models.
  • Work in partnership with ClubSport Stirling by taking on the ClubSport Stirling Secretary role and supporting them to achieve their vision.
  • Support local sports clubs through the delivery of training and development opportunities, promoting an inclusive approach.
  • Work in partnerships with clubs, schools, community groups, and partner organisations to increase participation and ensure they are well organised, sustainable, inclusive and providing excellent participation opportunities.
  • Support with the recruitment, training, and development of club staff and coaches and volunteers.
  • Develop effective relationships with external agencies including National Governing Bodies of Sport, Stirling Council Departments and sportscotland.
  • Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes and prepare reports for stakeholders and funders.
  • Promote programmes through social media, local media, and community outreach.
  • Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and equality legislation.
  • Maintain accurate records, budgets, and participant data.

Location:Forthbank Performance Centre, Forthbank Performance Sport Centre, Springkerse, Stirling, FK7 7UJ

Salary:£36,534 per year

Work From Home:Hybrid

Support local sports clubs in the Stirling area to be strong, sustainable, safe and inclusive clubs that play a key role within local communities and Scottish society, and provide a pathway for people to participate, progress and go on to achieve in sport.

This post is currently fixed term to 31st March 2027 but likely to be extended in line with sportscotland Investment Agreement from 1st April 2027.

Requirements

Educated to degree level in a relevant field.

Experience of successfully managing, coordinating and delivering a variety of sport or physical activity programmes

Experience of working in communities

Experience of working with sports clubs and their volunteers.

Experience in partnership working and engaging vulnerable groups

Ability to priorities workload and meet strict deadlines

Experience of working with the public and providing a high level of customer service

Full driving license.

Support local sports clubs through the delivery of training and development opportunities, promoting a more inclusive approach that is responsive to community needs. Provide training and guidance to associated staff on the remit and role of local sports clubs, to support effective information sharing and promotion of community events, activities, and clubs.

Work in partnerships with clubs, schools, community groups, and partner organisations to increase participation & ensure they are well organised, sustainable, inclusive and providing excellent participation opportunities for the people of Stirling.

Support with the recruitment, training, and development of club staff and coaches and volunteers.

Develop effective relationships with appropriate external public, private and voluntary agencies including National Governing Bodies of Sport, Stirling Council Departments and sportscotland.

Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes and prepare reports for stakeholders and funders.

Promote programmes through social media, local media, and community outreach.

Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and equality legislation.

Maintain accurate records, budgets, and participant data.
