Job summary

CGI in the United Kingdom seeks a Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the build, transition and ongoing operation of a secure OCI-based cloud platform. You will design, implement and automate infrastructure with IaC, oversee incidents, and collaborate with security, architecture and engineering colleagues.

You will contribute to resilience, performance and lifecycle management while strengthening standards and sharing expertise across teams. Hybrid role with London/Gloucester commuting requirements.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience building, operating or improving production cloud/platform services.
• Experience with OCI/Oracle technologies is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Linux and container platforms.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering activity and influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Engineer: Provide hands-on technical leadership across build, transition and operation of a secure cloud platform.
• Configure & Improve: Operate and improve OCI services and infrastructure.
• Automate & Simplify: Develop IaC and automation using Terraform and scripting.
• Operate & Troubleshoot: Manage Kubernetes, Linux, networking and platform components.
• Monitor & Optimise: Implement monitoring and observability for reliability and performance.
• Diagnose & Resolve: Lead investigations of complex incidents in a critical environment.
• Plan & Assure: Coordinate releases and maintenance while preserving service continuity.
• Secure & Strengthen: Apply secure-by-design principles and support lifecycle management.
• Set Standards & Support: Review work and mentor engineers; no formal line management.
• Innovate & Improve: Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve safety and effectiveness.
