Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Cloud Infrastructure engineer to own and evolve the shared compute platform that underpins ChatGPT and API services.

You will design, implement and operate scalable infrastructure abstractions across multi-cloud environments, working with cross-functional teams to reduce friction and improve reliability. The role emphasizes end-to-end production ownership, including upgrades, incident response, and platform tooling to empower internal teams to provision compute

Qualifications

• At least five years building core infrastructure and platforms.
• Experience designing and operating shared cloud infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, automation and multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve systems that create, configure and manage Kubernetes clusters across their lifecycle.
• Develop reusable platform tooling and infrastructure automation for provisioning compute.
• Improve capacity management, autoscaling and resource allocation.
• Enhance security, patching and compliance within the platform.
