Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Network Development Engineer to build and operate the world’s largest cloud infrastructure in the UK. You will lead network projects, automate operations, and collaborate with a world-class team to deliver scalable, reliable networks that support customers at massive scale.

You will need a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience, plus hands-on routing knowledge, on-call experience, and scripting skills.

Qualifications

A relevant degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in a large-scale network environment.
Experience in a network-focused hands-on role with routing protocols/technologies in large-scale data centres or WANs.
Experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms for IP networking systems.
Experience in a technical on-call capacity, responding to customer impacting events and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of interacting with many network devices via configuration tools, IaC or scripting.

Responsibilities

Leading network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and optimization.
Influencing the operations function, troubleshooting, and improving automation for the network.
Analyzing the network with tools and metrics to ensure safe and secure operation.
Investigating issues thoroughly and implementing durable fixes.
Planning and delivering new systems, processes, and tools to better serve customers.
Delivering repeatable solutions, removing bottlenecks, and enabling scalable networks.
Understanding upcoming networking systems and safely implementing them.
