Job summary

BBC Glasgow is seeking Software Engineers to join Project Playback, a strategic cloud-native playout initiative that will replace legacy broadcast systems. You will design, build, test and support a scalable AWS-based platform and deliver features end-to-end within a highly collaborative cross-functional team.

Expect to work with TypeScript, AWS CDK, Docker and Kubernetes, and to contribute to system resilience, performance and security while enabling production operations.

Qualifications

• Experience developing cloud-native apps and services on AWS.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeBuild and related tooling.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience using AWS CDK to define and deploy infrastructure as code.
• Experience troubleshooting, monitoring, and supporting production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high quality software applications and services
• Deploy, automate and support third-party software solutions within AWS environments
• Build out CI/CD infrastructure, monitoring and alarming
• Contribute to system design decisions for resilience, performance, security
• Work with project managers, systems engineers, architects, testers and users to deliver features end-to-end
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and production issues
