Job summary

Google Public Sector's UK Security Operations is seeking a Security Platform Engineer in London, with possible satellite sites in Wiltshire. This on-site role focuses on building and operating cloud-native security platforms for Red Team and Purple Team activities, emphasizing Kubernetes and automation.

You will work with Incident Response, Platform Engineering, and Security Architects to embed security validation into CI/CD and infrastructure, including on-call coverage outside core hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS or security.
• 5 years in security engineering or platform/Red Team roles.
• Experience with IaC and GitOps (Terraform/Helm/ArgoCD).
• Kubernetes security experience and container orchestration.
• Scripting in Python or Go for tooling.
• DV UK security clearance or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain automation platforms for Red/ Purple Team ops.
• Develop PoC exploits and validations for cloud security.
• Integrate security validation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze cloud/Kubernetes architectures to identify attack vectors.
• Provide telemetry to improve detection and response.
