Role summary

The Cloud Monitoring & Compliance Engineer provides visibility into security and compliance across KPMG's cloud-native environments, ensuring configurations and guardrails are followed to keep data and systems secure. Responsibilities include managing GSOC tools on Windows, Azure, and O365, and supporting multi-cloud environments alongside a team of security professionals. Key duties include:

• Analyzing MDC Product alerts related to CWP & CSPM for impacted clients.
• Customizing and enhancing Cloud Security Posture Management and Microsoft Defender for Cloud features.
• Onboarding new tenants and cloud providers.
• Implementing automated remediation processes.
• Collaborating with vendors and internal teams to optimize tools and influence product roadmaps.
• Managing and troubleshooting security tools daily.
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls and standards.
• Using DevOps practices to document project tasks.

Key Accountabilities

• Analyzing MDC alerts and requests from clients.
• Enhancing CSPM and CWP features to meet KPMG needs.
• Planning and executing automated remediation activities.
• Engaging with vendors for product investment and development.
• Onboarding tenants and cloud providers.
• Managing security tools operations and troubleshooting.

Experience / Qualifications

• Solid IT experience with major cloud providers.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management tools (Microsoft MDC, Twistlock, Redlock).
• Experience in cloud security and compliance, including certifications.
• Understanding of API security standards and cyber threats like exploits, malware, ransomware.
• Knowledge of web architecture and system administration.
• Ability to build complex queries in RQL, KQL, or SQL.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP security configurations.
• Programming skills in Python or PowerShell.
