Role summary

The Cloud Monitoring & Compliance Engineer ensures visibility into security and compliance across KPMG's cloud environments, managing configurations, security, and compliance guardrails. Responsibilities include installation, management, and support of GSOC tools on Windows, Azure, and O365, supporting multi-cloud environments, and collaborating with teams and vendors.

The key responsibilities include:

1. Analyzing MDC Product alerts related to CWP & CSPM from internal clients.
2. Customizing and enhancing Cloud Security Posture Management and Cloud Workflow Protection (Microsoft Defender for Cloud).
3. Onboarding new tenants and cloud providers.
4. Implementing automated remediation activities.
5. Liaising with vendors to optimize products and influence roadmaps.
6. Managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining toolsets.
7. Collaborating with other teams to meet requirements and identify opportunities.
8. Ensuring compliance with internal controls and standards.
9. Using DevOps practices to document project tasks.

Key Accountabilities

• Analyzing requests related to CWP & CSPM alerts.
• Enhancing CSPM and CWP cloud features to meet KPMG needs.
• Planning and executing automated remediation.
• Engaging with vendors for product development and roadmaps.
• Onboarding cloud tenants and providers.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting tools.

Experience / Qualifications

• IT experience with major cloud providers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management tools (Microsoft MDC, Twistlock, Redlock).
• Experience securing cloud environments, including compliance and certification.
• Understanding API security and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of exploits, malware, and detection methods.
• Experience with web architecture and system administration.
• Building custom queries in RQL, KQL, or SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP security features.
• Programming skills in Python or PowerShell.
