Job summary

TEKsystems in Glasgow seeks a Logging & Inventory Engineer on a 6-month contract inside IR35 to design, implement and maintain logging, monitoring and inventory solutions across multi-cloud environments. You will build automation with Python and Shell scripts, manage IaC with Terraform, and support AWS and GCP workloads while improving observability and governance.

This role requires hands-on cloud experience and strong scripting skills, with a focus on reducing manual work and ensuring reliable

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GCP and AWS in production environments.
• Experience delivering logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions in cloud environments.
• Strong Python development skills focused on automation and tooling.
• Proficient with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Shell scripting capabilities for automation and operational support.
• Experience driving automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
• Experience with containerisation technologies like Kubernetes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions across multi-cloud platforms.
• Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Build, maintain and enhance Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop and maintain Python and Shell scripts for cloud operations and automation.
• Support cloud engineering activities across AWS and GCP.
• Drive continuous improvements in cloud observability, monitoring and reporting.
• Manage and optimise containerised workloads, including Kubernetes where required.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to strengthen cloud governance and controls.
• Support cloud asset discovery, inventory management and configuration management across multi-cloud estate.
• Contribute to evolution of cloud-native monitoring and observability practices.
