Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Scotland is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build and operate cloud infrastructure that underpins Fixed Income portfolio management.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on Terraform IaC experience.
• Working knowledge of core AWS services (EC2/VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch).
• Foundational experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS in production or near-production environments.
• Familiarity with observability and incident management in distributed systems.
• Ability to review AI-assisted code and validate outputs with security/data handling awareness.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
• Support EKS lifecycle operations and cluster upgrades.
• Monitor the AWS estate health; perform triage and incident management.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for safe, reliable changes.
• Instrument observability with Datadog, CloudWatch, and Dynatrace.
• Leverage enterprise AI capabilities with validation and secure data handling.
• Contribute to server-side development in Java/Kotlin (Spring Boot) as skills grow.
