Job summary

Proactive IT Appointments Limited is urgently recruiting a Cloud Engineer with strong Azure Virtual Desktop expertise for a 3-month contract, hybrid working in London area. Inside IR35.

You will design, deploy and manage enterprise VDI/DaaS platforms, build IaC pipelines with Bicep/ARM/Terraform and PowerShell, and align hybrid identity environments across AD and Entra ID.

Qualifications

• Strong technical experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD/Azure VD).
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience architecting and deploying enterprise VDI/DaaS at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise VDI/DaaS platforms at scale, including session host provisioning, image lifecycle management, and end-to-end deployment automation.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code pipelines (Bicep/ARM/Terraform) and PowerShell automation frameworks to reduce manual effort and drift.
• Manage hybrid identity environments across on-prem AD and Entra ID, including Entra Connect Sync, conditional access, and MFA configuration.
• Administer app registrations, OAuth 2.0/OIDC flows, service principals, and managed identities for secure auth.
• Implement RBAC, PIM, and least-privilege governance across Azure resources and directory services.
• Deploy and manage MDM/MAM platforms (Intune) including policies, profiles, and remediation workflows.

Cloud Engineer - Azure Virtual Desktop - Inside IR35 - Hybrid

Our client is urgently looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer, with strong experience around Azure Virtual Desktop to join their team on a contract basis, initially for 3 months with a view to extend.

Please note, the role is INSIDE IR35. You will be required on-site 3 days per week in West London.

Cloud Engineer - Azure Virtual Desktop - Key Skills:

• Strong technical experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD/Azure VD)
• Sound communication skills - both technically and verbally. You must be able to effectively talk to both technical and non-technical people and be clear and concise with how your communication is delivered - both written and verbal

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise VDI/DaaS platforms at scale, including session host provisioning, image life cycle management, and end-to-end deployment automation
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code pipelines (Bicep/ARM/Terraform) and PowerShell automation frameworks to reduce manual effort and eliminate configuration drift
• Manage hybrid identity environments across on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including Entra Connect Sync, conditional access policies, and MFA configuration
• Administer enterprise app registrations, OAuth 2.0/OIDC authentication flows, service principals, and managed identities for secure application and service-to-service authentication
• Implement and maintain RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and least-privilege access governance across Azure resources and directory services
• Deploy and manage MDM/MAM platforms (Microsoft Intune) including compliance policies, configuration profiles, and automated remediation workflows
