Job summary

Proactive Appointments seeks a Cloud Engineer with strong Azure Virtual Desktop experience to design, deploy and manage enterprise VDI solutions. The contract role is hybrid, based in West London, Inside IR35, needing on-site presence three days per week.

You will implement IaC pipelines (Bicep/ARM/Terraform), PowerShell automation, and governance for identity and access. Strong communication with technical and non-technical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong technical experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD/Azure VD).
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in designing, deploying and managing large-scale VDI/DaaS environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise VDI/DaaS platforms at scale, including session host provisioning, image life cycle management, and end-to-end deployment automation
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code pipelines (Bicep/ARM/Terraform) and PowerShell automation frameworks to reduce manual effort and eliminate configuration drift
• Manage hybrid identity environments across on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including Entra Connect Sync, conditional access policies, and MFA configuration
• Administer enterprise app registrations, OAuth 2.0/OIDC authentication flows, service principals, and managed identities for secure application and service-to-service authentication
• Implement and maintain RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and least-privilege access governance across Azure resources and directory services
• Deploy and manage MDM/MAM platforms (Microsoft Intune) including compliance policies, configuration profiles, and automated remediation workflows

Cloud Engineer - Azure Virtual Desktop - Inside IR35 - Hybrid

Our client is urgently looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer, with strong experience around Azure Virtual Desktop to join their team on a contract basis, initially for 3 months with a view to extend.

Please note, the role is INSIDE IR35. You will be required on-site 3 days per week in West London.

Cloud Engineer - Azure Virtual Desktop - Key Skills:

• Strong technical experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD/Azure VD)
