Jobs2Web is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to support the TfL cloud platforms across Azure and AWS. You will design, implement, and secure hybrid cloud solutions, linking data centres with supplier sites and guiding infrastructure as code through pipelines.
Key tasks include automation of Azure infrastructure, cost optimisation, and writing PowerShell scripts. You will collaborate with security and architecture teams to ensure compliance and safe deployments.

The vacancy is within the cloud infrastructure team that manages hybrid cloud platforms across Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services) for TfL (Transport for London). We are delivering capital projects that enable capability for our travelling public in London, and data analysis that informs decisions and opportunities. The key is optimally running infrastructure that performs to expectations that is cost efficient. As a team we must move fast in keeping pace with the rapidly released vendor innovations.
The infrastructure engineer will technically understand cloud platforms to be able to help and deliver new projects and designs. The engineer must understand how cloud platforms link between data centres and supplier sites securely. When onboarding Cloud accounts, a technical understanding on how to apply design standards, recommend, and apply security best practice, cost optimise, and modernise using latest products.
As a proficient scripter, the engineer will write code. Utilising scripting skills to help DevOps teams deliver infrastructure as a code through pipelines. Importantly assisting other tech teams write code that builds infrastructure and extract data from the cloud platforms.
The engineer will join conversations with our stakeholders. Collaborating with the team to ensure correct decisions are made when using public Cloud. Following standards from security and architect team, to define and write policies that keep TfL safe.
