Job summary

TyneStack Ltd in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join its growing Data team. You will build, maintain and optimise data pipelines, ingest data from multiple systems and develop reliable datasets for analytics and data science.

The role focuses on strong Python and SQL, working with modern cloud technologies including Microsoft Fabric and Azure. Hybrid working is offered after probation, with three days onsite.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Python experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong commercial SQL experience with complex queries.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Commercial ETL/ELT development experience.
• Experience ingesting data from multiple source systems.
• Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
• Knowledge of data quality, validation, and reliable processing.
• Experience with Python notebooks.
• Understanding OLTP and OLAP architectures.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and optimise data pipelines and ingestion processes.
• Use Python to transform, process and manipulate data.
• Write complex SQL queries and procedures.
• Develop solutions using Python notebooks.
• Build ETL and ELT processes across multiple data sources.
• Support data warehouse and dimensional modelling.
• Transform transactional data for analytics and reporting.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric and wider Azure data technologies.
• Monitor pipelines and resolve data quality issues.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science and business teams.
