Job summary

SmartSourcing Ltd is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer (Python) to design, build and operate data pipelines in a cloud environment. This hands-on role involves end-to-end solutions and collaboration across disciplines.

You will work in a hybrid setup across multiple UK locations, applying IaC, AWS and containerised apps, with learning opportunities and professional development. Salary is up to £54,150 with a strong pension.

Qualifications

• End-to-end data pipelines in a cloud environment.
• Production-quality Python with large datasets.
• Undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject or equivalent experience.
• Strong data engineering practices: modelling, transformation, validation, testing.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication with non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate reliable, scalable data infrastructure and pipelines on AWS.
• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for large datasets.
• Develop automated web scraping and data acquisition workflows.
• Implement data transformation, validation, testing, quality controls.
• Build containerised data apps and dashboards.
• Manage workflow orchestration to ensure observable pipelines.
• Apply IaC to support data pipelines on AWS.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and engineers.
