Summary:
Reporting to the Director of IT, this Cloud Architect will design, implement, and manage our cloud infrastructure at Guidelight Health. You will be instrumental in shaping the technological foundation that supports our critical behavioral health services, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and cost-efficiency. You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product teams to translate business requirements into robust and future-proof cloud solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Cloud Strategy and Architecture:
- Develop and maintain Guidelight Health's overall cloud strategy, architecture blueprints, and technology roadmap, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Solution Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. This includes infrastructure-as-code (IaC), network architecture, data storage, and compute services.
- Security and Compliance:
- Architect and implement security best practices and compliance controls within the cloud environment, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other relevant regulations. Collaborate with the security team on risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Champion and implement IaC practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and management, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
- Cost Optimization:
- Continuously monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization and spending, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Performance and Reliability:
- Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the performance, reliability, and availability of cloud-based applications and services. Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Migration and Modernization:
- Lead and execute cloud migration projects, including the modernization of existing applications and infrastructure to cloud architectures.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with engineering teams, security teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into cloud solutions. Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Technology Evaluation:
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and services to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Mentorship and Guidance:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on cloud best practices and standards.
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and deployment models.
- Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with data warehousing and analytics in the cloud.
- Experience working in a regulated industry, particularly healthcare.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
