Job summary

Capital City College is seeking a Cloud and AI Lead for a full-time fixed-term hybrid role. You will architect and deliver secure virtual learning environments across sites, enabling staff and learners to access Azure-based cloud tools and AI models.

You will collaborate with a professional team, translate user needs into scalable solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement and documentation. DBS checks may apply.

Qualifications

• A degree in computing, software engineering, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data science or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial professional experience.
• At least three years' experience in software development, cloud engineering, platform engineering or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience of designing, configuring and supporting solutions on Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Experience of software development and scripting using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript or comparable languages and tools.
• Experience of contributing to technical architecture and translating user requirements into workable solutions.
• Experience of supporting services through design, setup, testing, deployment, documentation and ongoing improvement.
• Practical knowledge of AI technologies, including generative AI, large language models, APIs and workplace AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical expertise to support cloud-enabled learning and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.
• Architect, design, configure and deliver secure, reliable and accessible virtual learning environments.
• Support CCC staff and learners across the UK and partner colleges in accessing state-of-the-art technologies.
• Collaborate with team to translate user requirements into practical cloud/AI solutions and document processes.
• Monitor, test, deploy and continuously improve cloud and AI-based learning services.
