Job summary

Wild Bio in Oxfordshire is seeking a driven Research Associate with a strong molecular biology background to run and improve our cloning pipeline. You will manage constructs from design to sequence-verified plasmids and oversee the gene synthesis workflow within a fast-paced, collaborative team.

The role requires at least one year in molecular biology, familiarity with cloning methods (Golden Gate, Gibson Assembly, Gateway), and meticulous data recording.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of molecular biology lab experience covering cloning workflow.
• Knowledge of cloning methods: Golden Gate, Gibson Assembly or Gateway.
• Ability to perform routine molecular biology calculations (buffer molarity, dilutions, DNA/RNA concentrations).
• Excellent attention to detail and careful SOP adherence.
• Strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloning projects end to end from design to sequence-verified plasmids.
• Manage gene synthesis pipeline from design to order tracking.
• Carry out core molecular biology tasks: buffer, plasmid prep, DNA/RNA extraction.
• Collect, organise and analyse experimental data; maintain records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; troubleshoot and help write SOPs.
• Assist design of genome editing constructs (sgRNA) with genome editing scientists.
