Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacist with an interest in clinical trials to join the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). Training will be provided to develop knowledge to succeed in this post, with rotations through medical, surgical, and specialist areas.

In this role you will help set up new studies, manage trials, ensure GCP compliance, work with pharmacy and research colleagues, and contribute to service development while

Qualifications

• Qualified Pharmacist registered to practice in the UK.
• Experience or interest in clinical trials; full training provided.
• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles.

Responsibilities

• Validate and process clinical trial prescriptions meeting patient, Trust and GCP requirements.
• Support the existing clinical trials pharmacists in reviewing new trials.
• Identify medicines management issues related to proposed trials before pharmacy support.
• Proactively manage each trial through setup including dispensing templates and aseptic work where appropriate.
• Review and process protocol amendments and related documents.
• Liaise with research teams to align Medicines Management and Pharmacy Services with recruitment targets.
• Deliver training to Foundation and Trainee Pharmacists in clinical trials and IMP management.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects.
