Job summary

University Of Oxford is offering a full-time role in the Sample Handling Laboratory, Cancer and Haematology Centre, Churchill Hospital, Oxford. The post involves receiving and processing clinical samples following strict protocols for accurate results.

Techniques include centrifugation and separation of plasma/serum and white cells, with occasional out-of-hours work. A-level or equivalent education, good manual dexterity and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Good manual dexterity and accuracy essential.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Take receipt of and process clinical samples according to laboratory protocols.
• Perform centrifugation of blood samples and separate plasma/serum.
• Isolate white cells for analysis at other laboratories.
• Work on a flexible rota within 8.30am–5.30pm and occasional late processing up to 10pm.
