Job summary

Discover International is seeking a Clinical Trial Manager to lead the operational delivery of Phase I–IV trials for pharmaceutical and biotech sponsors in the UK.

You will manage cross-functional teams, oversee budgets and timelines from start-up to close-out, ensure GCP compliance, and maintain sponsor relationships. This on-site role in Cardiff offers exposure to oncology, rare disease, and cardiovascular studies, plus opportunities to mentor junior staff and influence trial strategy.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in clinical trial management in CRO/pharma/biotech
• Proven line management/mentoring experience
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP and UK/EU trial regulations
• Experience in budgeting and vendor management
• Experience in oncology, rare disease, or cardiovascular trials

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end trial management for assigned studies, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality standards
• Line-manage CRAs/CRCs, overseeing site monitoring plans and performance
• Serve as primary point of contact for sponsors, providing status updates and risk escalation
• Develop and manage study budgets, timelines, and vendor/CRO oversight plans
• Ensure inspection readiness and compliance with ICH-GCP, MHRA, and sponsor SOPs
• Lead site selection, feasibility assessments, and study start-up activities
• Chair internal and sponsor study team meetings

Key Responsibilities
