Job summary

Discover International, a UK-based CRO, is seeking a Clinical Trial Manager to lead the operational delivery of Phase I–IV trials for pharmaceutical and biotech sponsors. You will manage cross-functional teams and drive timelines from start-up through close-out.

You will line-manage CRAs/CRCs, oversee site monitoring and vendor oversight, ensure sponsor communication, and maintain strict ICH-GCP and regulatory compliance across UK/EU trials. This role is based in the UK.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in clinical trial management within CRO/pharma/biotech settings.
• Experience line-managing CRAs/CRCs is essential.
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP and UK/EU trial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end trial management for assigned studies from start-up to close-out.
• Line-manage CRAs/CRCs and oversee site monitoring plans.
• Serve as primary sponsor contact with status updates and risk escalation.
• Develop and manage study budgets, timelines, and vendor oversight.
• Ensure inspection readiness and compliance with SOPs.
• Lead site selection and feasibility assessments.
• Chair internal and sponsor study team meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end trial management for assigned studies, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality standards
• Line-manage CRAs/CRCs, overseeing site monitoring plans and performance
• Serve as primary point of contact for sponsors, providing status updates and risk escalation
• Develop and manage study budgets, timelines, and vendor/CRO oversight plans
• Ensure inspection readiness and compliance with ICH-GCP, MHRA, and sponsor SOPs
• Lead site selection, feasibility assessments, and study start-up activities
• Chair internal and sponsor study team meetings

Skills & Experience

• Life sciences degree (or equivalent experience)
• 4+ years in clinical trial management within a CRO, pharma, or biotech setting
• Proven line management/mentoring experience
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, UK/EU trial regulations, and risk-based monitoring
• Experience managing study budgets and vendors
• Experience in oncology, rare disease, or cardiovascular trials
