An established healthcare provider is seeking dedicated individuals to join their Ophthalmology Department. This role offers the chance to work in various ophthalmic clinics, providing essential care and support to patients. You will receive in-house training specializing in Ophthalmic Nursing care and will be expected to complete the necessary competencies. The Ophthalmology Department cares for patients of all ages attending a wide range of ophthalmic clinics. We have Doctor/Nurse led clinics on all sites.
Within this post, you will work in general Ophthalmology clinics and more specialised ophthalmic clinics, preoperative assessment, and support the organisation and running of clinics on a day-to-day basis. This provides the opportunity to cover all different aspects of Ophthalmic Care.
You will undergo in-house training specialising in Ophthalmic Nursing care.
You will be expected to complete the ophthalmic competencies required to work in the department.
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as several community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of General Hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides General Hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and helps with conditions like broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three hospitals provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapeutic, day case, and inpatient surgeries, along with outreach services across Morecambe Bay.
