Job description

Queen Margaret Hospital - 1 post - 20 hours per week

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual keen to take on the challenge of further developing your skills in a Specialist area of Mental Health? Have you ever considered working in mental health? If so this job is for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Specialist team to further develop this post within our service. We hope you will relish the opportunity to enhance and shape our service for the future through using your skills and experience to meet the needs of people in Fife.

Our dedicated team of Occupational Therapists and Clinical Support Workers work with the people of Fife aged 65 years and over who are experiencing mental health problems. The posts are based in a variety of locations and oversee delivery of Occupational Therapy within both community and in-patient settings.

We are a service that is forward thinking and dynamic and are always striving to improve our services for our patients and staff. We are currently engaging in a programme of transformational change and development in line with national and local strategy, standards and priorities for Mental Health and Occupational Therapy services. You would be actively involved in this service redesign work and would be able to be part of re-shaping the way Occupational Therapy services are delivered in Fife.

As a service, we recognise that staff are our biggest assets and we value staff, their wellbeing, safety, creativity and innovation. We promote a culture of openness, honesty, transparency and teamworking where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, care and compassion.

This will be a challenging but very rewarding role that will promote your personal development and support your career development. Experience working with people within a mental health setting is not essential, but a desire to work with this client group and some knowledge and understanding of their needs is important.

Please contact to discuss this exciting opportunity further and hear what our service in NHS Fife has to offer you.

If you would like to find out more about the posts and opportunities within the service, please contact Jacqui Chung - Team Lead Occupational Therapist on 01383 623623 ext. 24153/22147 or jacqueline.chung@nhs.scot.
