North Cumbria Memory and Later Life Service - West (covering Allerdale and Copeland areas) are looking for a clinical support assistant. This role will include supporting a caseload of mainly older adults in the community who have various mental health problems including dementia, depression, anxiety, psychosis as well as complex emotional needs. The role involves supporting clinicians to deliver evidence based treatment and to engage in collaborative working across the multi-agency team. You will work closely alongside other clinicians from a variety of professions. Working with a highly complex population, the team feel that this role would be ideal for someone with the following qualities, skills and aspirations:
To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of care needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive/and or learning disabilities under the direction of a registered practitioner. The overall responsibility for a patient remains , at all times with the registered professional.
To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
To support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in the trust policies.
You may be required to facilitate groups. Such as carer groups, Cognitive stimulation therapy sessions, recovery through activity etc.
