To work co-operativelywith other professionals in childrens services, health agencies and othercommunity-based services, including managing relationships with schools andattendance of internal and external meetings.To attend and contributeto relevant meetings as identified by management.To monitor the waitinglist for a cluster team of schools and to allocate referrals via agreedprotocols within the service, with support and oversight from the SeniorManagement Team.To advise on and/or lead practice in areas ofservice-and cluster specialism. To develop and evaluateexisting and new areas of specialism within the service, including care recordaudits, school audits, participation.

Clinical Responsibilities

To be trained and confident in theuse of CYP IAPT Principles, evidence- based interventions and routine outcomemeasures.

To provide regular Case Managementand Clinical Skills Supervision to qualified and trainee Education MentalHealth Practitioners and Childrens Wellbeing Practitioners in service.

To support EMHPs/CWPs to deliverWhole School Approach work (audits of Whole School Approach, delivery of workshops,groups and work to promote positive mental wellbeing in the educational settingsin collaboration with the Whole School Approach Team.

To offer clinical assessments and LICBT interventions to children and young people in the MHST locality of Swindon,including working with those with more complex presentations as required.

To provide signposting andself-help advice, or refer onto other services, where referrals are notappropriate for the MHST provision.

To complete all requirementsrelating to data collection within the service.

To keep coherent records of allclinical activity in line with service operational policies and processes.

To support clinicians to adhere toan agreed number of contacts and clinical sessions carried out per week, tominimise waiting times and to ensure treatment delivery remains accessible andchild centred.

To support EMHPs / trainee EMHPsusing role modelling to assess and support children and young people with acommon mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery.

Identify training needs across theteam and assist in the development of routes for CPD

To offer training sessions asappropriate as to attend training appropriate to the work role.

To contribute to the developmentof best practice within the Mental Health Support Team

Qualifications
Essential
  • Completed, or currently undertaking the EMHP Supervisor Post Graduate Certificate provided by one of the nationally commissioned training providers, which provides eligibility to supervise Trainee EMHPs and qualified EMHPs and CWPs in line with their registration requirements.
  • Completed approved academic course or study in line with the CYP IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and qualified as an EMHP
  • Registration as an EMHP with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
Desirable
  • A further relevant degree qualification.
Experience
Essential
  • Experience of working with children, young people and their families in an education or health care setting
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding CYP and other relevant legislation and policies.
  • Experience of the delivery of specific therapeutic interventions with children, young people or their families (e.g. CBT, solution focused brief therapy).
  • Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders.
  • Experience of negotiating, problem solving and relationship management where there are disagreements or resistance within the system.
  • Experience of line management.
Desirable
  • Demonstratable Knowledge and post qualification experience of working, delivering Low intensity CBT interventions to CYP and or their families within a multi-agency environment.
  • Significant experience of working with CYP and their families around a range of emotional/mental health and developmental needs.
  • Experience of monitoring and recording outcome measures for childrens emotional wellbeing.
  • Experience of delivering training in subjects related to mental health and wellbeing.

  • Able to analyse and resolve problems occurring in relation to service users and or staff supervised, and able to apply innovative solutions where no precedents exist.
  • Able to apply ABL safeguarding and child protection procedures and to report as necessary.
