A leading NHS foundation trust is seeking a passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their Sedgefield North Community Mental Health Team. This role involves providing clinical interventions, supervising staff, and working autonomously to support patients with complex mental health needs. Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, skilled, and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our busy Sedgefield North Community Mental Health Team, providing care/treatment within a recovery framework.
You will need to have significant experience of working with people with mental ill health in a care setting, delivering clinical interventions specific to care pathways. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are required to have the ability and experience to manage complex cases in partnership with other agencies and provide clinical leadership to nursing staff within the team. In addition, you will have further developed your clinical skills as a Non-medical prescriber and are practicing at level 2 with experiencing of prescribing in a secondary care setting. You will support service users in their recovery.
You will fully embrace the Community Transformation agenda and encourage ongoing engagement from all staff utilizing effective leadership skills. You are required to use your own initiative and make decisions independently for this post.
Main duties of the jobAs a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be expected to supervise and mentor members of staff and provide clinical advice. You will be a member of the supercell and take on a leadership role in developing the service to meet the demands within the current health and social caresystem.
Working alongside the team manager the successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously in a fast paced environment and provide clinical leadership within the team utilising skills to support team members, the role also maintains the offer of intervention and therapies to a defined caseload.
The post holder will be part of a resilient and professional team working collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the needs of those who are experiencing a deterioration in their mental health and their family carer needs.
You will be able to develop and demonstrate clinical leadership, supervisory and coaching skills and a comprehensive knowledge of mental health care, the Mental Health Act and complex risk assessment.
Strong team working is essential, requiring networking with a variety of people, as well as working in partnership with a range of different agencies both internal and external to the team.
