Job description

Clinical Specialist (permanent, full-time)

Optimus Medical are a specialist medical equipment company based in the Midlands.

We're looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our clinical team in giving great support to customers using our medical devices in NHS and private hospitals around the country. This is an opportunity to join a small but perfectly formed company where people come first and each employee is a big cog in a small machine, rather than an invisible minion in a huge corporation.

This is full-time nationwide field role with lots of travel involved so you’ll need a full UK driving licence. You'll be visiting hospitals on a daily basis and working in operating theatres helping physicians and theatre teams to use our products. You'll also be providing training to new theatre staff and onboarding new hospital sites from time to time.

Your core role will be supporting a small number of existing hospital accounts, ensuring that they are getting the very best service from us, but also looking to grow these accounts through customer education and product awareness. Although this is primarily an account management rather than sales role, you will be allocated prospective new sites to help trial and sell our products into from time to time.

Previous clinical experience or a medical background is desirable but is not essential, as we provide a comprehensive training package. We're far more interested in your personality, your drive and your enthusiasm. We like people to think for themselves so although you'll formally report into our General Manager, your character and willingness to learn will mean you'll be quickly working independently on a day to day basis.

Although not essential we’re particularly interested in candidates with a background or experience in orthopaedic surgery or interventional radiology, and who are southern based.

We've been around for fourteen very successful years now, but we're still as dynamic and passionate as ever about what we do. So if you'd like to have a chat about joining us, get in touch at enquiries@optimus-medical.com - we'd like to see a thoughtful covering letter as well as a CV please so don't just chuck your CV over and expect a response. Please note that as you will be working in hospital operating theatres and be direct engaging with patients, the role is subject to DBS vetting.
