Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust invites applications for an Academy Skills Trainer to support the Undergraduate Medical Education Team. You will lead clinical skills sessions, supervise students, and integrate curricula across MBChB and Aston Medical School placements within the Trust.

The role involves teaching across Paediatrics in clinical areas and providing a specialist resource to Trust staff. Training in teaching methods will be provided, with opportunities for research and quality

Qualifications

Experience delivering clinical skills training and simulations.
Ability to plan, organise and evaluate teaching programmes.
Experience teaching MBChB or similar medical student groups is desirable.

Responsibilities

Organise and deliver clinical skills sessions and simulations for MBChB and Aston University students.
Lead and evaluate the teaching programme in collaboration with the Academy Manager.
Coordinate undergraduate teaching, examinations and assessments.
Support students in pastoral role and provide signposting.
Liaise with medical schools, clinical colleagues and teaching fellows.
Undertake training in teaching methods as agreed with the Head of Academy.
Facilitate self-directed learning for students and keep clinical practice up to date.
Engage in quality improvement and/or research as interest allows.
Comply with Trust policies and procedures.
Contribute to the delivery of the MBChB curriculum in CTA and clinical placements.
