Job summary

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Clinical Skills and Simulation Manager. This Band 7 role delivers hands-on clinical skills and simulation training for medical students, residents and staff, leading a committed education team at MKUH.

You will liaise with university partners, drive inter-professional learning, and ensure GMC and NHS curriculum requirements are met, while supporting flexible working options where possible.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered practitioner is required.

• Ability to deliver clinical skills and simulation training.

Responsibilities

We are inviting applications for the role of Clinical Skills and Simulation Manager. This is a rare opportunity to join a successful, well-established education team responsible for delivering hands-on training for undergraduate medical students and resident doctors in training at MKUH, as well as simulation-based training for a wide range of staff across the Trust.

Responsible for the design, development and delivery of clinical skills and simulation teaching within all clinical areas, and to identify areas to support effective patient safety through that of inter-professional learning within the Acute Trust.

A key part of this role is to support the University of Buckingham Phase 2 Block leads; supporting and facilitating the undergraduate training programme to achieve their GMC Practical Procedures and deliver skills and simulation to meet the undergraduate curriculum requirements. The post holder will also work closely with the Oxford undergraduate faculty to support this curriculum delivery at MKUH.

Main focus of role is to deliver and manage a training system that ensures that all resident doctors in training achieve the practical skills competencies laid down by the GMC and that their curriculum requirements as set out by NHS England are achieved.
