Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to embark on a newly developed role of Clinical Site Manager within our newly refurbished inpatient facilities. The Clinical Site Manager is key to ensuring that services continue to operate in a clinically effective and safe manner during the overnight and weekend periods. Being the most senior individual on duty, you will provide clinical oversight and assurance across a given site/locality and be the first point of contact. You will be instrumental in maintaining and delivering high standards of quality care and patient safety.

This role involves both variety and complexity of working in a rapidly evolving programme of whole system change, presenting a fantastic opportunity to be part of our radical journey.

Main duties of the job

Key Dimensions: The role is supernumerary, with the opportunity to be based on a ward/unit dependent on clinical and operational need. We are looking for autonomous, driven, solution-focused and confident practitioner(s).

You will have formal and delegated authority to take managerial decisions pertaining to clinical, operational, and resource-related issues in the absence of the substantive Clinical Manager, working closely with other members of the senior on-call team.

You will be responsible for the implementation of high standards of care delivery, ensuring the service provided is needs-led, compliant with national guidance and is viewed positively by service users.

You will have the opportunity to influence and promote improved, dynamic and effective clinical practice across the service.

Education / Qualifications
  • Registration Mental Health Nurse RMN Part 3 ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification degree or extensive experience of community mental health nursing
  • Mentorship Preparation
  • Meet the requirements for revalidation as set out by the NMC
  • High standard of education
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Able to deliver from a range of possible key therapeutic interventions including CBT, Psychosocial interventions, Family Interventions, DBT approaches
  • Highly specialist knowledge developed and supported by theory and experience
Managerial Experience
  • Proven experience of working in a health/social care or acute setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of working with, supervising lower banded staff
  • Managing the care of service users with highly complex needs
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Provide clinical leadership to lower banded staff in medicines management in line with NMC Standards and Trust policies and procedures
  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary meetings i.e. referral/review/business/handover
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the recovery principles
  • Conduct specialist (including risk) assessments for service users/in the service user environment
  • Extensive proven experience of working with service users with mental health conditions
