Job summary

Pulse is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse in Sheffield to deliver high‑quality care within clinical trials. You will carry out participant visits, observations and safety checks in line with study protocols and SOPs.

The role requires a valid NMC PIN and at least 3 years of clinical research experience. You will build relationships with participants, ensure accurate data recording in source notes and CRFs, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support recruitment and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NMC PIN.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical research.
• Strong clinical experience in a patient-facing environment.
• Excellent clinical assessment and observation skills.
• Confident communicator with strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced research setting.
• Accurate documentation and high attention to detail.
• Experience with electronic health record systems.

Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse
Banding: Band 5/6
Location: Sheffield
Hourly Pay Rate: £25 – £30 per hour

What You’ll Do

• Carry out participant visits, observations, interventions and safety checks in line with study protocols and SOPs
• Complete pre‑screen assessments to support strong patient recruitment
• Build positive relationships that encourage participant engagement and retention
• Record, verify and enter study data accurately into source notes and CRFs/eCRFs
• Respond to data queries promptly
• Maintain a professional, supportive environment for participants and colleagues
• Participate in MDT meetings
• Act confidently in emergencies (e.g., cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, critical incidents)

What you will bring

• Valid NMC PIN
• A minimum of 3 years experience working in clinical research
• Strong clinical experience within a patient‑facing environment
• Excellent clinical assessment and observational skills
• Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
