Clinical Research Nurse / Clinical Research Practitioner

- This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse or practitioner with experience in clinical research to join our Neurology Research team.
- The clinical research nurse/practitioner will play a key role in the delivery of clinical research at St. George's Hospital, developing and creating robust systems and processes to enable clinical research to run smoothly, efficiently, and whilst ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
- The post holder will mainly be responsible for the trial portfolio; other neurology specialties may be included according to service needs.
- This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team to further develop and deliver high-quality research in Neurology.
- Previous experience in this specialty will be valuable to the applicant.
- The post holder will have their own caseload of studies to coordinate, with support from senior staff.
- This role involves liaising with Principal Investigators and other multidisciplinary team members to provide high-quality data collection and clinical care, ensuring participant safety and welfare.

Main Duties of the Job
- The post holder will coordinate and manage an agreed clinical research portfolio at St George's Hospital.
- Work collaboratively with research teams and the wider multidisciplinary team to manage their own caseload of clinical trials patients and achieve local and national targets.
- Responsibilities include study setup, identifying suitable patients via MDTs and screening notes, data collection, interviews, supporting and monitoring patients, and data entry.
- The post holder should have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed decisions about participation in clinical trials by providing advice, information, and acting as an advocate.
- Willingness to move across different clinical specialties within their qualifications and where needed is required.

Person Specification
Research Experience
- Understanding of or experience in Mental Health, Neurology, Neuroscience, or Palliative Care.
- Minimum 6 months research experience in any setting.
- Working towards or currently involved in research activities.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A DBS check will be required to screen for previous convictions.
