Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria- Registered Nurse/ Midwife
- Advanced knowledge and skills in clinical research, nursing and management
- Educated to Degree Level in health-related studies or equivalent experience
- ICH-Good Clinical Practice certificate
Desirable criteria- Teaching/ training experience/ qualification
- Management qualification
ExperienceEssential criteria- Demonstrate early phase experience in a senior clinical position (2 years)
- Experience of professional leadership, leading to innovation in practice
- Evidence of continual professional development within a management role
- Ability to manage own workload
- Proactive, takes own initiative
- Significant experience undertaking, coordinating, and managing clinical researc
- Line management experience
- Experience in workforce planning
- Experience of implementing new systems within a research environment
- Proven ability to maintain highly complex information. sources and databases
- Experience of redesign or change management initiates
Desirable criteria- Experience of regulatory inspections
- Project management experience
KnowledgeEssential criteria- Understanding of major regulatory issues governing the conduct of clinical research (e.g. Research Governance framework for Health and Social Care, Medicines for Human Use 9clinical Trials) Regulations, mental Capacity Act, Data protection Act and Human Tissue Act
- Sound knowledge of the research, clinical, information and corporate governance agendas
- Knowledge of the inspection and regulation environment in which clinical research cooperates.
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues
Skills and AbilitiesEssential criteria- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Good inter-personal skills - must be able to influence and motivate others in order to achieve results
- Methodical with good organisational skills with attention to detail
