Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed-term post of 24 months.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30.

The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (CRF) includes facilities at QEUH/RHC and GRI, with satellite units at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Gartnavel General Hospital, and the Dental Hospital. These units offer streamlined services to investigators for conducting clinical research efficiently and safely.

We are recruiting a Clinical Research Educator to work with the education and quality team to support and develop the GCRF Education programme, including clinical research induction and ongoing staff competencies. The role requires working in line with regulatory and research principles, with an understanding of relevant regulations and frameworks.

The ideal candidate should be a Registered Nurse with a first-level degree, with an interest and experience in education and practice development. The hours are predominantly 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, but flexibility is essential to meet service needs. Travel between all NHS GGC sites is also required.

Minimal Requirements

• First-level Registered Nurse with significant, current clinical and research experience, and an interest in education and practice development.
• Competency demonstration with evidence of clinical and technical skills.
• Knowledge of research regulatory frameworks and governance.
• Experience in delivering presentations and facilitating workshops.
• Effective teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to acquire new skills for staff training on research projects.
• Capacity to handle competing demands and unplanned requests.
• Commitment to continuing education and personal development.
• Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office, Microsoft Teams, electronic patient management systems, and web-based technologies.
