Job summary

Shire Healthcare is recruiting a Clinical Psychologist to lead psychological services in a residential childcare setting in Penrith, Cumbria. The role focuses on children with complex needs, trauma and attachment issues, providing leadership across residential care, education, outdoor learning and therapeutic services.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Clinical psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
• Significant experience assessing and supporting children and young people with complex presentations.
• Experience with developmental trauma, attachment and emotional regulation.
• Experience working within residential childcare or Ofsted-regulated services.
• Experience of safeguarding, risk assessment and multidisciplinary working.
• Experience working with, or a strong interest in, children involved in the Criminal Justice System.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological leadership across residential care, education, outdoor learning and therapeutic services.
• Provide psychological consultation, formulation, assessment and clinical guidance, while contributing to risk management, clinical governance, training, service development and multidisciplinary working.
