An established industry player is seeking a passionate Clinical Psychologist to join their dedicated team in providing specialist psychological services for children with respiratory conditions. We are looking for Clinical Psychologists or final year Trainee Clinical Psychologists with an interest in clinical health psychology and the impact of living with respiratory conditions or Long Term Ventilation. You may have experience of working with physical health problems with either children/families or adults, or experience of working in child and adolescent or adult mental health services with a keen interest and desire to apply that knowledge to work in an acute trust.
The postholder will join the Children's Respiratory MDT and Children's LTV team at NUH at the Nottingham Children's Hospital (QMC). The Children's Respiratory team at NUH Children's Hospital provides a comprehensive service for a range of respiratory conditions based on national and local guidelines.
The service is a tertiary referral service and provides support for the East Midlands. The Children's LTV team provides specialist services for Children and Young People on home ventilation. It is one of the few trusts nationally that offer specialist LTV nursing and therapy community support across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, with some support now being offered in Staffordshire.
As a Clinical Psychologist working in the services, you will provide a specialist service for children, young people and their families to help with psychological distress and treatment outcomes. We would welcome applications from newly qualified psychologists or 3rd Year Trainees due to qualify in 2025.
The main duties of the role will involve working closely with the multidisciplinary Children's Respiratory and LTV Teams. You will work with children, young people and their families through consultation to staff, direct work and by attending multidisciplinary clinics. Your base will predominantly be at the Children's Hospital QMC campus. You will be part of a welcoming and growing Clinical Psychology Department which incorporates specialisms in Paediatric Psychology, Adult Medical Psychology and Child and Adult Neuropsychology.
