Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Applied/Highly Specialist Psychologist to work within the Learning Disability service for adults in the Tees Valley region. The role focuses on psychological assessments, therapy, and consultancy for patients, families, and carers.

The post offers potential progression from Band 7 to Band 8a, with opportunities for supervision, teaching, and service development.

Qualifications

• Doctoral-level training in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology accredited by the BPS.
• HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
• Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision (within agreed timescale).
• Trained in care co-ordination (within agreed timescale).
• Evidence of continuing professional development and registration with BPS.

Responsibilities

• Development post with progression to band 8a upon meeting criteria.
• Provide psychological assessments and a therapeutic, consultative and advisory service.
• Provide supervision to other team members regarding patients.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions and service development activities.
• Commitment to patient-centered values within learning disability services.
