Job description

Job Opportunity: Clinical Psychologist in CAMHS

Do you have a passion for young people’s mental health? Do you thrive in multi-disciplinary settings where psychological skills are highly valued?

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist based mainly in our Buxton Core (Community) CAMHS Team within a friendly and dynamic service. Flexible working options are considered.

Your role will support psychological therapies pathways, primarily in our DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) Team, and you will play a key role in transforming/improving our Routine Outcome Measures delivery as ROMs Lead. There are also opportunities for indirect work, such as consultation and supporting clinical supervision.

Our service comprises 10 teams with a strong record of collaboration, offering diverse experiences for professional development. We provide a well-rated internal training program, highly value clinical supervision, and embrace diversity and flexible working arrangements, including a special leave policy.

Although this is an 8a post, applications are welcome from soon-to-be or newly qualified Clinical Psychologists in a preceptorship role, supported by a structured development plan and regular supervision. We maintain strong links with training courses and regularly host trainees.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
  2. Lead the transformation and enhancement of our Routine Outcome Measures delivery as ROMs Lead.
  3. Be client-centered and goal-focused, championing ROMs and contributing to service development.
  4. Empower and support young people on their recovery journey.
  5. Offer clinical advice, support, consultations, supervision, and training to professionals within CAMHS.
  6. Participate actively in a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to service improvements.
  7. Engage in case discussions and adopt a 'careteam' approach to formulation.

Our NHS-based service is committed to the principles of care, openness, integrity, and inclusivity, supporting staff well-being and work-life balance. Our locations in Chesterfield provide access to beautiful countryside, green spaces, and excellent transport links.
