Job summary
This post is an AfC Band 7 to 8a preceptorship and will be a split post between the Workforce Psychological Wellbeing Service (0.6 WTE) and the Surgery Psychology section, which includes Burns, Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, and Intensive Care (0.4 WTE). The role offers opportunities to develop skills in psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention across diverse presentations, including trauma, within both specialties. You will work with various teams, providing assessment, formulation, and team interventions, and may engage in research and evaluation projects to demonstrate the impact of embedded psychological resources. While independent initiative is valued, you will also benefit from a supportive team environment in both parts of this split role.
Main duties of the job
To conduct specialist psychological assessments of clients (individuals or teams), integrating complex data from multiple sources. To formulate and deliver evidence-based psychological interventions. To undertake risk assessments and advise on risk management. To communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences. To support team training and workshops. To participate in research and routine data collection for outcome evaluation. To attend supervision and develop skills in supervising others. To engage in team meetings and service development activities.
